INGREDIENTS
2 cans chickpeas
1/2 lb beef/lamb
1 red pepper, finely diced
1 green pepper, finely diced
1 onion, finely diced
2 T. tomato paste
1 T. red pepper paste
1 t. salt
4 cups. water
1/2 t. black pepper
1/2 t. red pepper
4 T. oil
2 T. flour
DIRECTIONS
1-Cook the meat over medium heat. (Continue cooking until the meat reabsorbs its juice and it should be soft. If it is not soft add 1 cup of hot water to cook it.)
2-Add oil, onion, red and green pepper, and sauté until soft.
3-Stir in flour.
4-Add tomato and pepper pastes, and stir together well.
5-Add all spices, salt and water. Stir again, and let simmer for 15-20 minutes.
6- Remove from heat, and let cool for 5-10 minutes.
Serve with pilaf (rice).
